Linedy Genao knows how to make it happen both on and off the stage. In 2015, Linedy made her Broadway debut in On Your Feet!, the hit musical based on the life and career of Gloria and Emilio Estefan. During her time with the show, Linedy starred as the original Gloria understudy, Rachel, and a member of the ensemble.
As a Dominican performer, born in Brooklyn and raised in Connecticut, Linedy was proud to bring her heritage to the stage and prove that Broadway has room for all cultures and voices. After graduating from college and working in the banking industry for several years, Linedy pursued her true passion of performing and landed a role in On Your Feet!, the show that would change her life both professionally and personally.
She has had the chance to experience the incredible journey of the production in its entirety. Now after countless congas at the Marriott Marquis Theatre, Linedy, 26, is getting ready to say her final farewell as the show prepares to close on August 20, 2017. The show will embark on an 80-week national tour, which will start in Buffalo, NY and continue onto cities across the United States.
Linedy will play her final performance on August 6, 2017. She will then be taking her salsa skills to the outskirts of Washington, D.C. at the Olney Theater Center's production of In the Heights starring as Vanessa, another dream role to check off her list. The show will run from September 6 through October 8 with a possible one week extension. To get tickets, click here.
